Paul Alborough
|
Paul Alborough AKA Professor Elemental is well known for his unique blend of neo-Victorian hip hop and interactive comedy. His critically acclaimed and unforgettable stage show has gained myriad fans around the world. After notching up millions of views for his YouTube videos, he continues to be a leading purveyor of Chap Hop and Steampunk music. The Professor’s songs chart subjects such as steam-powered flight, bizarre experiments, and nice cups of tea. With a heart of brass and a pair of goggles, he embodies the Victorian spirit of invention and exploration.
The Attic was originally a story that he would make up for his young daughters when it was his turn to put them to bed. The stories he told as they dozed off no doubt were the seeds of some pretty fun and exotic dreams. |

Robert F. Hughes
|
Rob received an Associate of Liberal Arts degree followed by a BA from Michigan State. He is considering getting his MA just so his credentials will spell ALABAMA.
As Rob was drawing his way through a lucrative job as an apartment building manager, he decided to see if he could draw his way through an actual drawing job. The next week he started as a cel painter in Chicago. While bouncing around studios there and in LA, Rob worked his way into assisting camera, layout, animation in-betweening, clean up, effects and finally, actually animating. His directing career started in the 90’s at Nickelodeon on Rocko’s Modern Life, Angry Beavers then over to Fox’s Family Guy. In 2006 Rob directed and produced Disney’s Phineas and Ferb. He also wrote/co-wrote over 200 songs for the show, which is where he met The Attic creator Paul Alborough. They co-wrote the steam punk song A Brave New World. Since that time Rob has worked on a bunch of other shows ranging from Preschool to Primetime. He has 7 Emmy nominations but so far, always the bridesmaid, not yet the bride. |
Phoebe S. Hughes
|
Phoebe started drawing as soon as her little, sticky baby hands could hold a pencil, and she’s been drawing ever since. Her parents, who fully expected her to go into animation, were stunned to find out she would rather go to college for botanical science. But as much as she tried, she could not escape the animation industry. Much like Charlotte at heart, she spends her free time organizing things, up-cycling old clothes, reading, wandering the woods, hanging out with her roommate’s cat, and drawing. And drawing… and drawing… and drawing…
Phoebe graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2022 with a Bachelors in Botany and does plant stuff when not creating art. |
Lillian E. Hughes |
Lilli Hughes is a visual artist, songwriter, regular writer, and general maker of things. Her experience in multiple art forms often intersect and help her conceptualize stories from different angles. She began playing drums at ten, and has recently graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelorette of Music. Many people have told her that her artwork, stories, songs, and pretty much everything she creates is reminiscent of a cartoon. This assessment is partially because she rolls up like a carpet if someone steps on her foot, but she is also strongly inspired by 2D animation, as well as Sunday comics, video games, and old issues of Mad Magazine.
In 2012, when she was in fifth grade, she won a writing contest and Cartoon Network animated a short based on her story, "Mr. Pike". She drew the storyboards, consulted with storyboard artist and writer David Smith, and did voice direction. (She also cast her family as the voice actors and promptly fired her dad.) |
